Sunday Inspiration
I chose not to attend church services today. It wasn't because I didn't feel like it but more so I was really not in the mood for a "father's day" type sermon. The last father's day service I attended the pastor went from Rev. (Last Name) to Rev. Testosterone. So I'll maybe catch next Sunday.
Donald Lawrence- It's Your Time
Pt. 1
I had a very epiphanic conversation with a friend last night. We were talking about love & life and the mentioning of two situations surfaced and he said to me, "My life is good right now and I don't think I need to concern myself with THAT past. This is the first time in a while that I've been really happy and not just faking it." This caught me off guard because I knew that he had been missing in action for the past few months but to come back in such a strong way really had a profound effect on me. I responded with "That is so good and I am so happy for you. My time is coming to be happy." Then after that statement I immediately started thinking about the conversations that I'd had with at least two other people earlier in the day that all ended with them saying "yeah, my time is coming.."- all referring to different things. Then my thoughts shifted to myself and the song embedded, "It's Your Time". It's almost as if I could hear a voice saying "It's your time...now!" and I truly felt it and I'm beginning to take ownership of the feeling. My time to be happy is now. As said in the song, I can truly feel myself getting ready to walk into the best season of my life. I feel like I'm in the beginning of that now but it is taking some repositioning before the light turns green.
So I hope this is inspiring to one of you as well. How many of you are waiting to go to the next level? Waiting to go back to school, waiting to pursue entrepreneurship, waiting to do that one thing differently, waiting to leave that dead-end job, waiting to stop taking those calls, waiting to stop entertaining foolishness, waiting to GROW UP, waiting to be that person you truly desire to be? Life and death shoots into the atmosphere from the tongue and I speak life into my situations and your situations and say "It's YOUR time." The only question though is how many of us are willing to own that and protect it all costs? I'm going for mine.
I'm not sure why the poster broke the song up into two posts but it's still good nonetheless. Enjoy.

My Wish List for June
First on my list
Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Miami Florida Rates $199-$929 per night
I never knew there were so many options for vacations. I'm still exploring the countless vacation destinations before I make a decision and set out for it. How great would it be to have great hotel accommodations in a great location and a room with a great view? If you're looking for vacation ideas, you can find something that fits you no matter your budget.
Next for this month is
Burberry Large Duffel Bag Retail Price $845
In conjunction with that lovely trip to a Conrad Hotel, I'd want to have this piece in-tow with me. I first saw this duffle bag with the Burberry given name "duffel" on an episode of Will & Grace. With most individuals mostly leaning to other brands for luggage such as Gucci and LV, I think this would be a bit different and slightly more subtle. Anyway, I love it and I'd like to have it!
Continuing my Burberry love fest...
Burberry Striped Strap Watch Retail Price $595
I wasn't even up on the fact that Burberry made watches and although I saw a few others that I really liked, this one seemed to have more of a summer feel to me. This watch comes across with such neutrality in my opinion. I see a white tee and jeans or to dinner in this watch. Simple, yet stylish.
Another fun summer toy...
2008 BMW 6 Series Convertible MSRP $82,700
"Yeeeeeeees...Yeeeeeees....My soul..my sooooul saaaays yeeeeesss!" Now I'd cancel the trip and the Burberry merchandise for this one here! Oh, Yes Sir! If I was the owner of this car, I'd LIVE for the summer...just to let that top down and be fly! Give me this and my Discipline album and I'm all set! By the way, who's going to the concert?
Last but not least
Life Beyond Measure: Letters to My Great-Granddaughter by Sydney Portier Retail Price $25.95
I normally try not to end my list without having a book, magazine or some piece of literature. I have not read this book yet but it has been laying in my den for the past month or so. I can tell that I'm growing because I'm now beginning to seek life lessons even more where ever they can be found. I'm hoping that this book has something for me. I look forward to it.
I hope that each of you are enjoying your summer thus far. Do something different and fun. If that doesn't work, as I heard someone say the other day, "If you can't do great things, do small things but in a great way!"
Now, in peace and blessings...go live!

It's Friday...Now Sum It Up!
- So it's graduation season....congrats to all the high school and college graduates this year! Although I'm slightly jealous because I still have about 10-12 months to go, I still salute you guys because it ain't easy. Hopefully that will be me next year this time.
- Ok, the Atlanta area has been getting a lot of rain lately. Why are we still in a drought? Somebody's stealin! Hmph!
- Did I mention that I really enjoyed my mom last week? I don't know what I enjoyed most, her or that ride! lol
- Aren't the gals on The View a riot? Although Elizabeth sometimes makes me want to riot! She wears "Republican" like it's a sorority. Wow...
- I have yet to figure out what I want to look like for the summer. I'm having a fashion block. Maybe I'll stick with what's easy until I figure it out. Although jeans and t-shirts are feelin' sexy to me.....oh don't leave out those Calvin Klein Steel shin-digs for the waist.
- Why am I always left with a crush on my barbers? I mean the last 3 guys to cut my hair within the past month all look like they came deep from the country...you know that kinda fine that hasn't been "touched" yet by the city and its "elements". Whew! Cut it boys!
- Ok for the record...let it be known....I want Al Scales Reynolds! Yes I'm pro-Star but that ain't reason enough for us (he and I) not to be happy and make it work! Hmph! But it would still be nice if she could write a letter of recommendation for me for law school. Hmm. Love ya Star! lol
- Ok...that was fun..enough with that foolishness! lol Serious talk, as you can hear the song that's playing in the background...."Work It Out". I chose that song because it makes me move but also fits my outlook. I woke up this morning thinking about all that I have to do. I've got school, which is increasingly requiring a lot more attention, as well as keeping up with managing my personal affairs. I have not been on top of things like I should've/should be. Then I started thinking about all of the foolish things that I've been giving my time to....uh uh...can't do that anymore. It is true that I've really got work to do. It's time for me to work it out! I am so serious...and so serious that I can't even spit a bunch of fluff about it. It is what is. So if you're lookin' for me...you know where I'll be.....on my grind!
It's Friday guys, go reflect and enjoy yourselves! Work it out!!

I Can Feel It..
So, my mom was here with me all this past week on her vacation. She rested, we shopped, got in some good dining, she got her day at the spa. She enjoyed it all. I'm glad she did. We also talked some this week and found out we had even more in common than the obvious. We actually talked about love, as it is relative to me. For the first time, I got really honest with her and just had to put it out there that I am "hoping" for it. She understood.
Since the week ended and I got the house back to myself, I started thinking about how easy it has become for me to be honest about my feelings. I'm used to sugar coating my emotions so that they aren't easily visible to "everybody" but I've discovered a certain freedom with just saying how it is.
How is it, you might ask? Well, borrowing from the words of Anita, "never have I felt the need to be this close". I have been experiencing the overwhelmingly profound urge for love in my life. The feeling itself, I compare to Lauryn's account as being "addicted to love like the drug of a fiend"...like a myopic trance. It is just that intense. I go through mood swings, I get filled with anxiety and I sometimes feel like I'm being bound...like something on the inside is dying, screaming, crying..."let me out!".....it's true.
This period of my life has also forced me to face my sincerity towards others as well. It "seems" like almost all of my friends either have someone or has a potential. I can't sit here and say that I am not genuinely happy for each of them because I think that being in love is a beautiful thing. However, I'm beginning to ask myself, "How many times can you be the cheerleader in other people's relationships?" I ask myself, how many more times can I say, "I'm happy for you!" and continue to mean it? I think to myself that I'm entering my mid-twenties and have never been in a serious relationship. Last summer, one of my high-school classmates married the guy that she started dating when we were in the 9th grade. I remember when she was head over heels for this guy at 14, 15. Wow. She found it early. Then, looking at myself in the mirror...I ask the question, "What about me?"
If I had a dollar for every time someone said to me, "Don't worry, it's coming", I PROMISE I could have had that $500k townhouse in Buckhead that I wanted WITH the S550. What makes it worst is that most of the people who use this phrase as a method of "soothing" me, have significant others in their lives. Yes, you may understand my position and what I'm feeling but you have no idea of how I'm feeling because your reality is completely different at this point.
What about mine? When is mine coming? Yes...the well wishes are appreciated but what am I to do in the meantime? In the meantime while you're celebrating special occasions and holidays with you and yours, on any given night...knowing that you're loved. Knowing...that you are a part of a team...
This is the most free I've been about my emotions. Wow. But this is my blog.
It's time for me...it's been too long.....I can feel it.
"Love is sweet and so divine and I can't wait for my love light to shine..." - Luther V.
I just asked myself, "What are you about to do with this blog?" but oh well! This is the reality of me and so many others. This one is for the team.

My Wish List for May
First on the list is..
Gucci Basic Bi-fold Wallet Retail Price: $230
As my first ever Gucci product, I must say that I am very pleased with this wallet. The elastic band with the signature pattern makes this wallet flat enough to slip in your back pocket (although I don't carry it there) or in your hand. It also keeps the contents snug and in place. I love it.
Next on the list is..
Tiffany Atlas Open Ring in 18k White Gold Retail Price: $975
Moving on to..
Just Who Will You Be? by Maria Shriver Retail Price: $14.95
I've seen Maria on a few shows talking about this book and what it is all about and I am really interested in reading it. I think it is going to be interesting to explore her thoughts from her perspective of the issues that so many people deal with everyday...the issues of figuring out "self". I've gotta get it! By the way, has anyone noticed that her hair is THA' business? Hey hey...if something looks good to me, I'm gonna go ahead and say it.
Continuing...
Bang & Olufsen A8 Headphones Retail Price: $159.95
After much back and forth debate of what type headphones I'd like to have for my iPod, I think I've come to this decision. I want quality sound and comfort and these seem to be the best route to go. Although I have not heard the sound quality of these particular headphones, I'll trust that the reputable name and good reviews will be accurate. The $159, I'm still workin' on though...but wouldn't they be nice to have?
Finally..
Loews Miami Beach Hotel Nightly Rates: $359-$775Yes..yes...I've been talking about a vacation for a long time now and hopefully I'll get a real vacation this year. Looking at this room and view, I don't even have to go with anyone...that's enough to take in all by myself. My mind and body is screaming for this! Umm...I can almost feel it now...laying in that bed with the balcony door open, listening to the billows caressing the beach while being soothed my the cool breeze racing from it..ummm..ok...ok...but wouldn't it be lovely?
Anyway, it feels like the summer is finally here. It's May already. Let the summer chapters begin...

You Have the Floor..
The month is almost over already and this is only my second post of the month. I've had a lot going on and did not feel genuinely inspired to blog over these past weeks. For the past few days though, I've been feeling my blog gears turning again from the changes that have been happening around me and within.
It is amazing how no matter how "bad boy" I feel, when the dust settles, I'm always staring the "spiritual me" directly in the eyes. I am constantly reminded that no matter how thin I spread the connection from my end, it always seems to grow thicker when I look at again.
As I mentioned, I've been going through some changes within me. I'll admit it, I've been acting desperate..acting needy and doing and saying a lot of things that stem from that desperation and neediness. This desperation and neediness feels like such a natural thing.....when you're in "need" of something. Then randomization spreads over my thoughts from one thing to another and it dawns on me that I don't know what or how to feel at this point.
There are so many plaguing emotions and thoughts to front....the constant workload and responsibility of my studies, managing my household and financial resources as it is relative to such, taking care of me, dealing with me, being with me, soothing me...it being only me. It's not easy doing any of those things. There's so much depending on me, it seems. So the things that once worked, no longer do. There's a bigger picture trying to shine through, thus said my spirit and because I didn't/don't fully recognize "the call", I identify it as a disturbance making me imbalanced and causing me to keep trying to fill a void from something that's trying to come to me, already complete.
Then this song came through my shuffle....
That's it. What is this thing within me? Is this the making of something great? Am I in the makings of being someone great? Did all of the other "greats", as we've deemed them, gone through this same thing?
Or
Is this all me? Is this just for G? So, I petition.....show me the desires of my heart. Yes, I know that I have my hopes and dreams, I know that I've been single all my life and lonely and depressed more often than not lately because of it but...show me. Yes, my responsibility is increasing but...show me. Yes, I see all of these different roads and avenues that could lead to endless possibilities but......show me. Yes, I have more now than I've ever had before but I still petition for you to show me. If you do, then and only then can I be sure.
So, you have the floor.
Then by the end of the song, I began to find out just as she did...the answers for my own heart.
Clarity awaits. No, I don't see it, but I believe on it. It'll unfold.
In what ways can you believe on it in your life today?

My Wish List for April
Topping my list this month is...

Ok, this tv had to top my list this month being that I am a newly proud owner of one of these. I've never experienced watching television quite this clear and with such high definition. I have it in my bedroom and let me tell you, if you ever want to see what it can really do, turn to Animal Planet or The Discovery Channel....unlike anything you've ever seen.
Next on my list for this month is
Bedford Retangular Desk Retail Price: $649.00 Desk Chair(s) Retail Price: $199- $379
I have been in love with this desk since first seeing it in Pottery Barn. Although I don't have the little bookcase up top, I do have the matching chair and it fits the house nicely. It's all solid wood and very heavy, coming in three pieces. In the picture it looks smaller than it really is but I think it'll transition well from facing a wall to being in the middle of a room and the best thing is that you can add pieces to this, extending into any kind of unit you'd like or need. Go check it out! Gotta love Pottery Barn.
Next!
D&G Dolce & Gabbana, Geometric Swim Trunk Retail Price: $175.oo
Yes, yes....it's spring time and I'm dying for a vacation! I think these trunks are just what I need to lay around on someone's beach. Aren't they just lovely?
Moving on to...
A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle Retail price: $24.95
I am very much interested in reading this book when I can get to it. I've been hearing Oprah talk a lot about this lately. I'm wondering how enlightening and effective it is. It may be saying the same things that we've all heard before but you know that timing is everything. I hope to check this book out very soon.
and...
El San Juan Hotel & Casino, San Juan Puerto Rico Nightly Rates: $180-$1000+
I've been talking about a vacation constantly lately and would sooooooo love to get away, possibly to this destination or one like it. Now that view is a big difference from 6pm traffic on I85. I'll be wishing on this one for a minute.
Finally...
Yes, yes, yes....isn't she lovely? I am so thinking about getting me a little being in the house with me and a little lady or gentlmen like this may have my name on it. These dogs are gorgeous. I still have my names too. If it's a boy, Peanut, and a girl, Gracie.
